- My first race. Ever. The River Run for Hope 5k/10k. It was a tiny little race, but that’s when I fell in love with running in races. The thing I remember the most: getting sprinkled with holy water as we ran by the Catholic Church. My dad and I tried to get double the blessing. 😉
2. My second race was another 10k on the fourth of July, and it’s the largest 10k in the country: the Peachtree Road Race. It was a blast, and I loved every second of it! There were fun bands along the way and tons of people running with you as well as watching and cheering from the side of the roads..not to mention the hilarious patriotic outfits. We even saw someone get engaged in the midst of it. Such a fun race!
3. My latest race was The Palm Beach Half Marathon this past December (2011). It was my first (but definitely not last) half-marathon. My dad, sister, best friend/roomie, and her sister ran in it. I ran it in 1:46:12. I was definitely content with that being my first half marathon.
